Mid Summer Hive Dive Inspections & Potluck

THIS IS A MUST ’ BE THERE’’ MEETING FOR ALL KEEPERS
Dives will include, Hygienic Behavior, Queen laying, mite loads, resources, mites, hive beetles, ventilation. Christine will also deconstruct a compacted hive and reassemble it into a new super. This is a delicate and necessary skill every keeper should know.
The invitation is open to all Napa beekeepers and Sonoma County Beekeepers East Cluster group, and new keepers or those starting in the spring.
Invited guests along with the clubs dedicated mentors will be exploring hives and talking about

WHERE
Turn left into the Parking lot of Walsh Vineyard management 1125 Golden Gate Dr. Construction cones will be placed at the entrance to the site. Please drive to the end of the lot. Parking will be available just outside the gate and a short walk to the apiary where the meeting will take place. We will have a transport service set up for any carry in items or people with limited mobility to get in and out of the apiary.
POTLUCK DINNER
Please join us in a pot luck dinner, we ask that you bring a dish to share, and refreshing beverage. – there are bathroom facilities at the entrance to the BOCA gardens.
Paper plates, and utensils as well as glasses will be available for a small donation. Or bring your own.
Bring a non perishable dish to share, salads, pasta, breads, rice dishes, fresh fruit, chilled chicken, ice, beer, wine ……..
This meeting is in the center of an active working apiary. There may be a risk of ticks so wear long pants, socks, and keep your shirt tucked in. Also there will be bees, lots of bees. Consider this if you a allergic. It is suggested that you bring bee gear, or at the least a veil. It is your responsibility to protect yourself.
